Rio Mountain Sports uses an online booking system. After filling out the booking form, we will reach out to you within 24 hours in order to confirm the date, time and location of your climb, your equipment requirements, and to provide you with the next steps to finalize your payment transaction

If you are booking within 48 hours of your intended climbing date, please contact the office to confirm availability before using the online booking system

Information in our table is organized in the following format:

Guided Hike - Type 1 | Costão | R$200 / R$160

Guided Hike - Type 2 | Pedra da Gávea | R$400 / R$300

Guided Climb - Type 1 | Most routes on Morro da Urca, Babilônia, Cantagalo | R$240 / R$190

Guided Climb - Type 2 | K2, Italianos com Secundo, Chaminé Stop | R$340 / R$270

Guided Climb - Type 3 | Passagem dos Olhos, Secundo, Waldo | R$420 / R$340

If you have a specific route in mind and you are not sure which category it falls into, reach out to us to find out. In general, Type 1 climbs are routes that take up to 4 hours to complete. Most Sugarloaf beginner-level routes fall into this category, as do most routes on Morro da Urca, Babilônia, Cantagalo and Contraforte do Corcovado. Our Type 2 climbs are routes that typically take 4 to 6 hours to complete and tend to be at an intermediate level of difficulty. Type 3 climbs typically take more than 6 hours and are characterized by greater difficulty, complexity or extension, of either the climb itself or its approach

We offer a 10% discount for those that bring their own equipment. If you are a group of 3 or more, climbing with children or a current or former student of Rio Mountain Sports, additional discounts may apply. Please contact us to find out

Payment and cancellation

We require a 20% deposit in order to secure your reservation. We accept payment by direct deposit, PayPal and PagSeguro. Full payment for all bookings is due 24 hours before the booking date

All payments are non-refundable except for weather-related cancellations. Your guide will decide if inclement weather necessitates cancellation

Risk assumption

Rock climbing is inherently dangerous! It is impossible to eliminate all risks associated with climbing. Our goal is to minimize your risk, but ultimately you must assume full responsibility for your participation. Click here to download and read the Statement of Assumption of Risk
