Rio de Janeiro’s mountainous landscape offers extensive climbing options for all levels, from first-time to expert. Rio’s famous mountains, such as Sugarloaf, Corcovado and Pedra da Gavea, all feature beautiful multi-pitch routes that lead to the mountains’ summits. In addition to these iconic peaks, there are numerous other mountains with established climbing routes - our favourites are Morro da Urca, Babilonia and Cantagalo.

We guide hiking experiences to the summits of Sugarloaf Mountain and Pedra da Gavea. Both of these mountains feature challenging trails with vertical, rocky sections where the use of rock climbing technique and equipment is required for a safe ascent.
